My favorite thing is to work in collaboration with someone to make their vision of a project come alive–and hopefully make it as hassle free for the customer as possible as well.
I was at a holiday party recently, where I had brought some of my glasses as a gift for Reid and Jenn (see Club 33 post!). Glass etching is probably the gift I give most, but a guest at the party asked what else I was able to do. She needed centerpieces for her son’s bar mitzvah–but was donating them, along with a ton of school supplies to a non-profit with children, so preferred something more durable than glass. She found these awesome acrylic pencil cups to paint the non-profit’s logo on! I used acrylic multi-use paint and an acrylic sealer so that the dots will not chip off.
After the bar mitzvah, the pencil cups will make their way to the desks of 9 Dots, an after school STEM program in Hollywood!
9 Dots’ after-school programs are designed to help underserved students build the confidence and skills required to become tomorrow’s innovators. To volunteer or support the organization in any way you can, please visit http://9dots.org for more information.
